This holiday resort built like a wooden cottage (in the year 2003) stands on a sunny slope at an altitude of 1,250 metres. The centre of Hohetauern is just 2 km from here. This resort has over 50 wooden cottages built and furnished in an eco-friendly manner. These houses (AST050-AST053) with 55-80 square metres of living area and 2-4 bedrooms can accommodate 4-8 people. Explore Austria’s first sports village, Hohetauern, with your family or with friends through cosy hikes or take a climbing tour in Hohetauern with challenges for everyone. Free parking space as well as play area for children is available in this house. Take a trip to one of the traditional mountain huts and indulge yourselves in Styrian specialities. Visit various tourist destinations in the neighbourhood or simply enjoy the serenity in the mountains of Hohetauern. You can enjoy a fun-filled holiday in this region even in winter. Ski Hohetauern is a spot for recreational skiers to enjoy pure nature in an atmosphere ideal for families. Away from huge hustle and bustle, Hohetauern, situated 1,274 metres above sea level, provides immeasurable winter fun. 4 ski lifts and 12 km long ski runs cater to all difficulty levels. This region nevertheless is an ideal ski region for families. A ski school with ski-kindergarten is available here. The trail network with lot of cross country ski runs has been awarded the Styrian Ski Seal of approval. Ice skating, curling, moonlight sledding with hearty hut refreshments, sleigh rides and winter horseback riding, rentals for all winter-sport equipment and mountain hiking routes are also available here. Lower Tauern (Niederen Tauern) is one of the most beautiful tourist regions that also provide ski tours.
