This wooden holiday house with a panoramic view and a private terrace is right next to Großsölk Castle in the nature reserve, in a quiet location. It is at the heart of the tranquil locality Großsölk. The house lies at 950 metres in a location that is a happy medium between easy accessibility and relaxed seclusion, for a relaxing and varied holiday. Many hiking possibilities on the doorstep invite you into the nature reserve.
The holiday accommodation has modern pellets heating and offers a rustic chalet feeling with the comfort of a holiday house. The living space of 70m² is spread over three floors, comprising a shower room with a WC, a living room with a sofa bed, a cosy kitchen-diner with an LED TV and two double bedrooms. The ground floor consists of the newly renovated and modern bathroom and the cosy kitchen-diner, while the bedrooms and communal rooms are on the first and second floors. The bathroom is fitted with a washbasin, a generous shower with a rain showerhead, a WC and a towel radiator. In the light kitchen-diner, up to five people can site at the table by the window with four chairs for meals together. The kitchen unit equipped with modern appliances enables convenient self-catering with a ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. After a day trip you can relax in the bedroom with a comfortable bed (180cm wide). The flatscreen TV with Apple TV and satellite channels provides entertainment in the evening. The first floor also has a little bedroom with a French double bed (140 x 200cm) made of solid oak. The second floor provides a double bedroom under sloping ceilings with wooden panelling, furnished with a kingsize double bed measuring 160 x 200cm. All rooms have free wireless Internet access, new radiators and covers on the beds.
Right by the house a terrace awaits you with a dining table, parasol, bench and chairs for meals outdoors. You can enjoy private grill evenings with the charcoal grill, with a wonderful mountain panorama and a distant view into the Sölk Valley. Two outdoor car parking spaces are available right in front of the house in summer. In winter, depending on the snow, you can park on the street or the castle car park. It is possible to load and unload right by the chalet in any season.
Please note that it is a renovated old building with steep wooden stairs, which is not recommended for those with restricted mobility. The hallway in the attic area is being renovated and is not included. Pets are allowed, but must be notified with the booking. The house is ideal for a relaxing family holiday. Youth groups and party groups are not welcome.
Großsölk Castle and the Jesuit Garden await your visit within walking distance (ca. 100 metres, a few minutes). Cafes, restaurants and shops are about 6km away. There is local direct access to the Sölk wild stream, where you can cool off and refresh yourself (about a 20-minute walk). Your holiday accommodation is ideal for a variety of trips both in summer and in winter. Many famous ski resorts within 15 to 40km will make your skiing holiday perfect: Hauser Kaibling – 4 mountains ski carousel Schladming, as well as the World Championship ski resort Schladming Planai/Dachsteingebirge and a family and beginner ski area at the Stockerfeldlift. Ski touring, night sledging, snow shoe and torchlight hiking are other possibilities. In summer you can find countless inns in the nature reserve where you can sample the locally produced cheese “Steirerkas”. Apart from many hikes of different ability levels, Austria’s largest family climbing garden awaits you in Gröbming (ca. 14km). Alternatively, there are crystal clear mountain lakes and waterfalls in the nature reserve, such as Schwarzensee (ca. 10km away).
