The villa is located 6km South of Marsala, in a region well known all over the world for its wine and history. The Marsala fortified wine is one of the symbols of Sicily: it is named after the city, one of the oldest of the island, founded by the Phoenicians at the beginning of the 4th century BC.
Marsala overlooks the Stagnone nature reserve, that includes a long stretch of coast and four isles enclosing an area of shallow water. This “big lake” is famous all over the world thanks to the isle of Mothia and its Phoenician ruins, but it’s also well known to surfers: this is one of the best destinations in Sicily for wind and kite surfing, and last year the Stagnone hosted the Kite Surf World Championship.
