Ardeen Villa for 5 adults and 3 children

Ardeen Villa is located in Kahandamodara, Ranna, Tangalle on one of the best stretches of pristine beach on the Southern Coast. The villa is set on more than 4000 square metres of magnificent beachfront. The surrounds capture open spaces with beautiful nature reserves enhancing the stunning landscape of the beach and lagoons. An ideal setting for beach lovers, surfers, anglers, wild life enthusiasts and bird watchers with all the major game parks and bird sanctuaries within close proximity of a day trip. The hill town of Ella renowned for its tea plantations and bio diversity with its rolling mountains and scenic valleys and the nine arch railway bridge is a day's trip and transport can be arranged. The largest two game reserves in Sri Lanka, Yala and Uda Walawe are a day's trip where leopard, bear, herds of elephant and deer and wild boar are sighted. A magnificent 18 hole international golf resort is a 20 minute drive from the villa. The Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary and Mangrove forest and fisheries harbor is a 10 minutes drive. The easiest way to get around the neighborhood is by three wheeler or tuk tuk which is relatively inexpensive. The city of Tangalle located nearby has several bars, restaurants, cafes and hotels as well as a fisheries harbor for travelers who wish to experience the unique culture and diversity of the island. Day trips can be undertaken to the UNESCO listed Heritage City of Galle, the dolphin and whale watching sites of Mirissa and Dickwella, the turtle hatcheries, surf beaches and the ancient 4 AD cave temple of Mulkirigala. There are several bays and lagoons for boat rides and for exploring the amazing fauna and flora that the region is famous for.
The superb beachfront villa accommodates up to 8 persons, two in each sea view bedroom and two adults and up to two kids in the family suite. The private location right on the beach is fully serviced and ideal for families or groups up to 8 persons who want to spend their holiday on a magnificent beachfront villa within close proximity of the game parks and bird sanctuaries, surf beaches and dolphin, whale and turtle sightings. Privacy and extreme cleanliness and comfort assured. Certified as Safe and Secure for Covid -19 by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board.

For stays of 7 nights free pick up is provided for groups travelling together. For stays of 14 nights free pick up and drop off is provided for groups travelling together. Transport at reasonable rates is arranged for other trips to the various places of attraction.

Ardeen has three large bedrooms all over 40 sqm each with air-conditioning, hot water and ceiling fans. Two rooms have a king bed and the third room has one king bed. (two additional single beds can be provided for up to two extra guests/kids making it an ideal family suite for 4). The rooms are high ceilinged, very airy and full of light with a private patio in each of the two double rooms which overlook the pool and sea. Each bedroom has its own ensuite with shower, twin wash basins, closet and combination safe
The dining area is located separate in the main lounge overlooking the beach. The lounge area and rooms are bordered by an indoor open courtyard with a frangipani tree and lawn. The lounge has large sliding aluminum and glass doors and windows which enables the sea breeze to waft through the entire building keeping it cool and fresh throughout the day and night. The two double rooms with sea view also have a secure grill overlooking the pool with guests having the option of closing the grill if they wish to have the air conditioning on in the room. There is a separate entertainment room equipped with a TV set, children's games, carrom, drafts, chess, darts , card games and jigsaw puzzles and is used generally by kids who like to take a break from their smartphones.

We have a private chef who cooks excellent local and western cuisine as well as vegetarian and vegan meals. Light snacks or a picnic meal can be provided. The kitchen is fully-equipped with an oven, microwave, cooktop, fridge, coffee machine and toaster. There are two outdoor cabanas and a wood fired BBQ. Meals are priced around EU$ 8 -12 per meal. with vegetarian and light snacks priced at EU$ 5-7. Special requests in advance can be accommodated for live lobster, crab or lagoon prawns and exotic seafood depending on availability at market price. A wash only laundry service is available with an iron provided for guests to do their own ironing, The villa rates quoted per night are inclusive of all taxes and breakfast and service. The front outdoor garden is well established with frangipani, bougainvillea, oleander and tropical orchids which is a haven for a variety of exotic birds that nest in the surrounds. Peacocks and jungle fowl are frequently seen resting in the gardens relaxing in the shade of the trees,. Fruit trees like banana, mango, custard apple and wood apple and coconut are grown, The villa is located in a very private spot away from the street. The 3 room staff quarters comprises a separate building in the same premises where resident staff stay. The rear yard is large as the land on which the villa is built is more than one acre. The rear faces the beach with direct access from the villa. There is a cabana located about 5 meters away from the shore which is used for drinks or a quiet chat or meals . A wood fired BBQ with another cabana is available in the rear garden. There is a badminton and a beachball court near the cabana for kids and adults to display their skills. The wide, beautiful white and golden sandy beach extends for miles and is ideal for walking and for swimming when the sea is calm. The local fishermen set out at dusk and dawn returning with their days catch and guests can participate in drawing the nets when the boats come ashore. Turtles frequent the shore to lay their eggs on a full moon night and the surrounding shrub and dense bush is ideal for trekking and exploring the fauna and flora.

The entire villa sits on the single level ground floor with easy access from the driveway. The village of Kahandamodara where the villa is located has a small population. The villagers are mainly farmers and fishermen who are friendly and welcome foreigners coming to stay here. As a policy we assist them by buying their fresh produce which is organic and readily available. Within close proximity there are herbal massage clinics, Ayurveda health clinics and meditation and yoga centers for rejuvenating the mind and improving physical well being. The seafood is fresh and straight off the fishing boats when the fishermen return with their days catch. Every guest who has stayed at the villa has thoroughly enjoyed their visit and carry with them fond memories of their stay.

The beach is about 40 meters away from the main villa and directly accessible via a gate. The city center is Tangalle about a 15 minute drive with its restaurants and supermarkets. The smaller town of Ranna is located 4km from the property where there are shops, bakeries, supermarkets and local markets selling fresh produce and excellent fresh seafood. The International Golf Resort 20 kms from the villa has an excellent 18 hole golf course open to the public. For wild life lovers day trips to the largest two game reserves in Sri Lanka can be undertaken. The Bundala Bird Sanctuary is a 60 minute drive and the Kalalametiya Bird Sanctuary a 10 minute drive. The hill town of Ella with its cool climate for tea growing, famous for its rolling mountains and bio diversity of fauna and flora is a day's trip. The easiest and cheapest way to travel around the neighborhood is by three wheeler or tuk tuks. Public buses to the major cities depart from Ranna, but for families we recommend that cars or vans be used for greater comfort where one can stop and visit other attractions and places of interest.
