The name of this town reminds us of the home town of Grimm brothers and the Fairy Tale Route of Germany is located here. Explore cultural and natural traits of this region through numerous well-developed hiking and cycling trails such as the cycle trail on the train tracks called Rotkäppchenland, Schwalm and Fulda cycle trails. A variety of museums that provide excellent insight into the history of this region as well as numerous other features are typical of Rotkäppchenland. Bad Hersfeld with terrific Tudor-style old town in renaissance style and numerous spa, cultural and recreational facilities is just 15 km away from here and is definitely worth a visit. The Stiftsruine is considered one of the oldest Roman Basilica located north of Alps, which is now the largest Roman ruins in the world.
