Here you are in an area on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, which allows you to easily reach the main towns such as Perugia (about 30 km). Umbria gives a sense of peace and inner harmony. There are ancient hermitages and monasteries, where outstanding figures of saints lived and worked like Francis of Assisi. The frescoes by Cimabue and Giotto can be admired in the majestic Basilica of Assisi. Perugia, like Gubbio, Orvieto, Spoleto, Città di Castello, Spello, Todi and many other Umbrian villages, is a jewel of art and history perfectly preserved. Lovers of fishing and all water sports can be found in the Trasimeno (about 15 km), a beautiful lake with views of towns like Castiglione and Passignano. Do not miss a visit to the picturesque little islands in the middle of the lake, where you can also enjoy the gastronomic specialties of Umbrian cuisine. Some suggestions for your day trips: from Umbertide you can easily reach the Adriatic coast, Florence and Rome in about 1 hour drive.
